Syrian border guards opened fire on a Lebanese national trying to slip into Syria through the northern borders Sunday. Investigations revealed that border guards in the Bukeiaa regional area opened fire on Osama A.A., 28, who was crossing the Nahr al-Kabir River, according to the state-run National News Agency. Osama, from Wadi Khaled, was taken to the Youssef medical center in Halba for treatment. He is wanted by Lebanese authorities on charges of robbery and trafficking of foreigners and has been put under precautionary confinement in the hospital after which he will be referred to the judiciary.
