Akram Raslan per l’Award for Courage in Cartooning!

Each year Cartoonists’ Rights Network International, a human rights organization focused on rights of editorial cartoonists, gives its Award for Courage to a cartoonist in great danger or who has demonstrated exceptional courage in the exercise of free speech rights. In other words, to a cartoonist who is in danger for merely expressing their free speech rights. 

Ali Ferzat was one of the winners of the 2012 prize.

Anyone can nominate a candidate for the Award. And anyone is strongly encourage to nominate a cartoonist in danger.

SiriaLibano would like to support the nomination of the Syrian cartoonist Akram Raslan, who was arrested on 2 October 2012 and whose fate is unknown.
